The family have suffered terribly from the disease with the loss of Helen’s sister Emily, and fear of it’s return has shaped Helen’s decisions about her health and her relationship with Stephen, her first serious partner since her divorce. When Helen suspects she’s found a new lump, past actions come sharply into focus, while her subconscious battles to help her make decisions she wants to make.
