Fowl Far Afield

Details

Christina Ciano | United States | 2015 | 5 m

A large flock of juvenile wild turkeys migrate into a metropolitan Madison, Wisconsin neighborhood, and their presence is immediately felt by the residents. This short film is an individual’s account of the wild birds, as she observes them negotiating their new foreign surroundings, bumping up against automobiles and people during their daily forage for food. It’s an off-beat reflection on the juxtaposition of wildlife and humans, as natural animal habitat continues to disappear via our expansion and development.
