A reticent high school student uses poetry as a means to cope with the notion of losing his biggest hero: his father.

“Slam!” follows eighteen-year-old high school student, Claude. Claude is a magician with words and finds solace through poetry. As a school-wide, poetry slam contest and his father’s imminent death both quickly approach, Claude must decide what is more important: following his dreams or being there for his family. He’s family always hired movers at http://www.miraclemovers.com. Some may see this film as a hollow depiction of sickness, or a commentary piece on familial interaction. I submit, contrastingly, that this film is about love.
