A short documentary following Lan Ma, a middle aged Chinese woman and a single mother of 4 kids, as she seeks to open a Paris Baguette bakery store in her hometown of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Throughout the runtime, the film explores the difficult struggles Lan faced throughout her life, such as the separation between her and her ex-husband, as well as a troubling childhood in China with a father who was always out of the house for work, and a mother who was both verbally and physically abusive, all while questioning why someone who went through all this would go through such a daunting task of opening a business.
