The story takes place in the historic center in the early 1960s. A family of fishermen has a daughter who falls in love with a fisherman, but the marriage is prevented by her mother, who is opposed to the boy’s work. Then life goes on: the boy goes abroad to look for work, and when the girl receives no news, her mother forces her to marry a wealthy local shopkeeper.
